Wonderful book as I expected, as all of Mr. Ellsworth’s books have been. I won’t do a plot summary as I’m sure many others will.Engrossing and fast paced, the beginning seems a bit disjointed at first, with the necessary introduction of characters. But as the plot begins to solidfy thread by thread, it really comes together into a very cohesive story. I read the second half in less than 4 hours. I couldn’t stop. The tension was so real from chapter to chapter, waiting for the next shoe to drop.I have read every book that Mr. Ellsworth has written and this one is his best so far!Disclaimer: I received an advanced copy to read, my only promise was to write an honest review.

I have been involved for some time as an Advance Reader for new Ellsworth books. Unfortunately, this time I missed the cut off for downloading the book and so I had to buy a copy. And I’m glad I did.The story opens with an FBI chase through the streets of Phoenix that ends with a raging firefight and the death and/or injury of several FBI agents. In the firefight, Special Agent Donnie Francisco kills two of the mobsters whom he had seen shooting two of his colleagues in cold blood., but unfortunately one of them was an important member of the mob, and the mob wants revenge. The family lodges a lawsuit against Francisco who employs lawyer, Thaddeus Murfee to defend him. This begins a series of events that affect the two men both together and separately, ending with Francisco being blinded in one eye and Murfee being run over and suffering multiple injuries. We also meet again Christine Murfee, Thaddeus’ wife who is also a lawyer, and Turquoise Murfee their daughter an LAPD Detective. We meet Nathan a young man whose mother is a prostitute and who asks Thaddeus for help, two rogue FBI agents, and a sheriff’s deputy who takes the law into his own hands believing he is protecting his wife and young children. So be ready for a fast ride and for a kaleidoscope of characters and locations. This is certainly Ellsworth at his best. Another new series and I look forward to reading more about Thaddeus in the books to come.

I have read the entire series of the Thaddeus Murfree thrillers and have given 5 stars on all except the last two. Flagstaff Station was by far, the worst I have read. The entire book was disjointed and hard to follow all the characters coming in and out of the plot, so much so, at the end of the book, the author had to tie up loose strings in “floating paragraphs”. John Ellsworth started as a talented writer. I hope he’s not caught up in churning out manuscripts.

I love the character of Thaddeus Murfee and John Ellsworth has an imagination that brings life to his characters. Flagstaff is worth the read. Ellsworth brings truth to the fact that corruption touches everyone whether directly or indirectly. Yes, as we already know the FBI is not exempt from corrupt agents, and lawmen who can be bought for a price. Of course the pressure from “the mob” and their money makes a bit of difference. Thaddeus is caught up in the situation and finds himself kidnapped, beaten and put to work on a road crew. I could not put this book down, couldn’t wait to see how Ellsworth has Thaddeus fight back. When the mob threatens his family is all it takes . Thaddeus gets new injuries, scars and loss of a good friend, but his family is strong and gains a new member when a little boy’s mother is sent to jail

This is the first Ellsworth book that I haven’t given a 10 in my private library rating or a 5 star on Amazon. I have read all of them. Really an interesting tale but contains violence that doesn’t add to story and seems to be for shock value only. It also tends to bad mouth police agencies some but with some of what we read and hear about, perhaps it is well deserved. In any case I can recommend it but be aware that it may offend. I do hope that John will tone it down just a bit in future tales of this series.

Not really impressed with this book lot of plot holes and useless side plot that never went anywhere, the last few books this author has written have been train wracks. ..another title changed is it Hollywood station? Flagstaff Station Thaddeus Murfee book 12 or Justice series book 1..... i'm so confused

I enjoyed the early Ellsworth. It's been churning away, and finally gone from predictable to repetitive. I hate to give a bad review because I wish I had the balls to write and applaud those who do for their efforts. Good writing enlightens the reader, ok writing entertains the reader, the best writing does both. This book does nothing in the latter category but started out well on the former. Unfortunately, it seems like the author got tired of the book and resorted to the "They all got run over by a bus." ending, thus falling down on the former as well. Too bad, I think he's got better stuff.

There were so many plots and sub-plots that it finally became impossible to follow the main story. Not worth reading.
