As many young athletes, my daughter lacked mental toughness. My husband researched and discovered this book and we bought it. I read some of it and had our daughter also read it. It has helped her tremendously. She even brought some of the pre-tournament ideas to her team and was so excited to share what she had read with them. The book is written so a young athlete can understand the concepts in the book. I am impressed and will be having our younger daughter read this book when the time comes.
This book is helpful if you have an athlete who has a hard time performing because of anxiety. Great for helping his/her mental game.
If you're into sports psychology this book can help the younger ones begin to understand the mental side of competing
Inspring for an athlete. I have swimmers/water polo 10-12 year old girls.
As a parent, I bought the book for myself. I got some great tips from this book that I could use with my kids. I didn't read the entire book, just the chapters that applied. It was a good read....
I gave this to my grand daughter who is a competitive swimmer.
Basically suitable for younger athletes around 12-13. But parents especially the ones who are not that much familiar to competitive sports should read.
This is a perfect book for a second year captain. I use this with high school age girls. Good follow up to the book, The Team Captains Leadership Manuel.
